Scott grew up playing competitive sports since the age of five. Mainly focusing on baseball but also playing soccer and wrestling. At the age of 12 he started getting involved with strength training and eventually competing in, and winning, a few power lifting competitions in high school. As a smaller athlete he knew his work ethic and training regiment needed to be that much harder in order to be a competitive athlete. Following high school graduation and one year of community college, Scott joined the Marine Corps. This is where he started getting experience as a coach by becoming a Green Belt Instructor for the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP). In 2003 he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Building on the martial arts training he received in the Marines he started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and eventually competing in various grappling tournaments. In 2011 Scott became a certified MMA group fitness instructor and then becoming an ISSA-CFT in 2012. In 2013 he found and competed in the CrossFit Games Open. He immediately fell in love with the style and intensity of the workouts as well as the community and environment that is CrossFit. In the same year Scott became a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, completed the online judges course and competed in his first local competition. Scott also spent 19 years as a performance DJ which has helped him develop a very technical, passionate, enthusiastic and highly motivational coaching method. The energy used to perform in front of hundreds of people definitely comes through whether he is coaching a personal or a group session Being able to coach and train other athletes as well as training as an athlete himself has been a life long passion.
